CHAPTER 3. WORLD FREIGHT TRANSPORT MARKET

 

During 2010-2013 volume of Russian freight transport market increased considerably: if in 2010 total production was equal to 19 mln units, then by2013 it exceeded

 

** mln units.

 

As for 2013 one fifth of freight cars production in cost terms belonged to the American Caterpillar Company. A significant share of production belonged to Japanese Komatsu. Shares of other companies in 2013 did not exceed 5%. 

 

Five leaders by this type of product production included also Volvo, Hitachi and Liebherr, sales volume of which in 2013 was equal to 8 130, 7 945 and 7 463 mln dollars.

 

CHAPTER 7. FACTORS INFLUENCING FREIGHT TRANSPORT MARKET

 

According to estimates of Intesco Research Group analysts, in 2013 the share of automobile freight transportations in the general structure of freight transportations made **,6% that was * % more, than in 2012. Such an increase became possible due to reduction of freight transportations volume by railroad.

Freight transportations market on the commercial basis in Russia felt considerable enthusiasm in 2011-2012, from the beginning of an active phase of Olympic facilities construction and implementation of other image projects. Other catalyst of road haulage growth is retailing. Regional statistics confirms the fact that road haulage increased in this period due to "buildings of the century" and retailing.

 

Reasons for freights transportation decrease are, first of all, termination of large construction projects, general stagnation of domestic economy and reduction of investments, caused the decline in demand for commercial cars. 

 

CHAPTER 11. FREIGHT TRANSPORT PRODUCTION

 

As a result of fast economy recovery of the Russian Federation after the crisis, volumes of produced freight vehicles in 2011 increased by **% compared to 2010 and made 1**,8 ths units. Further, lorries production in the country continued to grow: during 2012-2013 the country produced more than ** thousand freight vehicles).

 

Since 2011 the share of spark-ignition cars in freight transport production decreases – on the background of freight transport means with compression-ignition ICE increase.
